Privacy Policy
The short version
Mady Labs does not ask you for your name, email address, phone number or payment details to use this website or the MarketCompare app. There are no accounts and no passwords. We do not sell or rent data to anyone, and we do not run advertising trackers. MarketCompare stores an anonymous device identifier — a random string generated on your phone — so your watchlist can be saved and returned to you. That identifier is not linked to your identity.
1. Who this covers
This policy is issued by Mady Labs, the independent software practice of Mohamed Mady, based in Egypt. It covers two things:
- The website at madylabs.com.
- The MarketCompare mobile application for iOS and Android.
Other Mady Labs applications distributed through the App Store carry their own privacy policies, linked from their individual store listings:
- Daftar — privacy policy · support
2. The website
madylabs.com is a static website. It sets no cookies of its own, has no login, no contact form, and no advertising or social-media tracking pixels.
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information — including your IP address, browser user-agent and the page requested — in order to deliver the page and to protect the site against attacks and abuse. Cloudflare acts as our hosting provider and processes this data under its own terms. Where Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, it reports aggregate page-view counts only; it uses no cookies and does not fingerprint or track visitors across sites.
The site loads two typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Loading a font file sends your IP address and browser user-agent to Google, which uses it to serve the font. No cookies are set by these requests.
3. MarketCompare — what the app collects
MarketCompare compares prices for the same product across Egyptian marketplaces. It works without an account. This is the complete list of what it holds:
- An anonymous device identifier. The first time you open the app it generates a random string on your device and stores it there. It is not your advertising identifier, not your phone's serial number, and not derived from anything about you or your hardware. It exists so that a watchlist saved from your phone can be returned to your phone.
- Your watchlist. The products you choose to watch and any target price you set for them, stored against that anonymous identifier.
- Your language and country preference (for example: Arabic, Egypt) so the app opens in the right language and currency.
- Click-out events. When you tap through to a merchant, we record which offer was tapped and when, against that same anonymous identifier. This tells us which comparisons are useful and is the basis of the affiliate relationship described in section 6.
Your recent searches never leave your phone. They are stored only in the app's local storage on the device and are not transmitted to us.
4. What MarketCompare does not collect
- No name, email address, phone number, postal address or date of birth.
- No password — there is no account to log into.
- No payment or card details. Purchases happen on the merchant's own site or app, never inside MarketCompare, which has no cart and no checkout.
- No precise or approximate location, and no access to your contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA / Android Advertising ID), and no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- No health, financial, biometric or other special-category data.
5. Why we hold it, and for how long
The device identifier, watchlist and language preference exist to provide a feature you asked for: saving products and being told when a price drops. Click-out records exist to measure whether the comparison is useful and to reconcile affiliate commission. We hold no data that we do not use for one of those purposes.
Watchlist entries are kept until you delete them or delete the app. Click-out records are kept for up to 24 months and then removed. Deleting the app from your device deletes the local identifier; because there is no account, a fresh install generates a new identifier and starts empty.
6. Amazon Associates and other merchants
MarketCompare shows offers from third-party marketplaces including Amazon.eg and links out to them. As an Amazon Associate, Mady Labs earns from qualifying purchases made through those links, at no additional cost to you.
When you tap through to a merchant you leave MarketCompare and enter that merchant's own website or app, where their privacy policy and terms apply — including any cookies or identifiers they set to attribute the referral. We do not receive your order details, your payment information, or what you ultimately bought. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how those merchants handle your data.
Prices and availability shown in MarketCompare are accurate only as of the check time displayed next to each offer. The price shown on the merchant's own page at the time of purchase is the one that applies.
7. Who else sees the data
We do not sell, rent or trade data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. Data is disclosed only to:
- Infrastructure providers who host the website and the application backend, and process data solely on our instructions in order to run the service.
- A public authority, where we are legally required to disclose it.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access to the backend is restricted to the operator. No system is perfectly secure, but the honest mitigation here is that we hold very little: there are no passwords to steal, no payment details, and nothing that identifies you by name.
9. Children
MarketCompare is a general shopping tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Because the app collects no identifying information at all, we hold nothing that could identify a child; if you believe a child's data has somehow reached us, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law, and under the GDPR if you are in the EU/EEA or UK — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. Because MarketCompare holds no identifying information, we will ask you for your in-app device identifier so we can locate the right records — without it we genuinely cannot tell which data is yours. You can also erase everything we hold from your phone at any time by removing your watchlist entries and deleting the app.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes affecting how MarketCompare handles your data will also be surfaced in the app.
